Privacy Policy
IJIDI Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us") is a Nigeria-registered civic vehicle within the IJIDI ecosystem. This Policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
1. What We Collect
We collect personal data only when you choose to provide it, primarily through the Partnership Enquiry form. This may include:
- Your name and/or organisation name
- Email address or phone number
- Programme of interest and message content you submit
- For gift verification: transaction date, amount, and sender name, if you provide these to match a transfer to a receipt
We do not currently use cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party advertising scripts on this site. If that changes, this Policy will be updated first.
2. How We Use It
- To respond to partnership and giving enquiries
- To match incoming transfers to donor records and issue receipts
- To maintain internal records for governance and financial transparency, consistent with the Foundation's disclosure commitments
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not use your data for marketing without separate, explicit consent.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent (by submitting the form) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in operating a transparent, accountable civic organisation. This Policy is intended to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
4. Data Sharing
Personal data submitted to the Foundation is accessible only to authorised members of the Foundation and IJIDI ecosystem leadership directly involved in partnership review, governance, or financial reconciliation. We do not share your data with external third parties except:
- Where required by law or a valid legal process
- Where necessary to complete a financial transaction you've initiated (e.g., your bank, in the ordinary course of a transfer)
5. Data Retention
We retain enquiry and donor-verification data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes above, meet accounting/audit obligations, and support the Foundation's public transparency record. You may request deletion at any time, subject to any legal or accounting retention requirements.
6. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, where not otherwise required to be retained
- Withdraw consent for future processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data submitted to us. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. Where field programmes involve minors (e.g., beneficiary registration), data handling is governed by separate programme-level safeguarding protocols, not this website Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Foundation's registration, systems, or practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
